In an industry long defined by metal, concrete, and physical labor, two Texas companies are showing that progress can come from lighter materials and smart collaboration.
RectorSeal, the Houston-based manufacturer and distributor of HVAC and plumbing products, has been named the nationwide master distributor for DuraPlas’s PolarPad and PolarPan product lines. The agreement extends the reach of DuraPlas’s engineered-plastic solutions through RectorSeal’s vast North American distribution network.
The partnership connects two firms with deep Texas roots but complementary strengths. DuraPlas, headquartered in Dallas, has decades of experience designing advanced polymer materials that replace traditional substrates like wood, steel, and concrete with lighter, longer-lasting plastics. RectorSeal, founded in 1937 and now a subsidiary of CSW Industrials, supplies more than 30,000 products used every day by HVAC and plumbing professionals.
Both companies share a focus on innovation that makes contractors’ jobs easier. PolarPad and PolarPan, the products at the center of the deal, are made from high-density polyethylene (HDPE), providing a durable, weather-resistant alternative to concrete pads and metal drain pans. PolarPad features reinforced ribbing that delivers strength and stability while remaining lightweight and easy to handle. PolarPan incorporates switchable drain fittings that let contractors adapt installation layouts without juggling multiple SKUs.
These design choices address some of the most persistent frustrations in HVAC installations—excess weight, corrosion, cracking, and limited configuration flexibility. By offering a product that is both sturdy and adaptable, the companies aim to help contractors save time on job sites and reduce call-backs caused by product failure.
The collaboration also reflects a broader materials shift within the HVAC industry. As systems grow smaller and more energy efficient, the accessories and support products around them must also evolve. Manufacturers are increasingly turning to engineered plastics for their balance of strength, flexibility, and resistance to environmental wear. The result is faster installation, reduced shipping weight, and improved long-term performance.
By leveraging RectorSeal’s nationwide presence, the DuraPlas product lines will become accessible to contractors across the country through existing distribution relationships. DuraPlas will continue to manufacture the products at its Texas facilities, while RectorSeal will oversee inventory, marketing, and fulfillment.
The deal also underscores the continued strength of Texas as a manufacturing hub. With DuraPlas based in Dallas and RectorSeal in Houston, the agreement represents a cross-metro partnership that brings together engineering expertise and distribution scale within the state’s growing HVAC ecosystem.
For contractors, the impact is straightforward: products designed to simplify installation and last longer in the field will now be easier to source. For the two companies, the partnership positions them to meet the rising demand for lightweight, durable, and installer-friendly solutions in a changing industry.
